Learning How to Witness For Christ

Learning How to Witness For Christ
2 mins read

MAIN OBJECTIVE: To train the students to become witnesses of Christ or simply to share Jesus to others.

MEMORY VERSE: ACTS 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

LESSON#1: WHAT IS WITNESSING?
SCRIPTURE: LUKE 1:1-4
A witness testifies to what is seen or heard and verifies what is true. (In court, a witness must swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.)

LESSON#2: THE TASK OF A WITNESS
SCRIPTURE: ACTS 1:4-11
The task of Christ-followers is to witness. How can we witness? The disciples did not witness at the moment when Jesus ascended. They witnessed when they were filled by the Holy Spirit just as Jesus promised.

LESSON#3: THE TOOL OF A WITNESS
SCRIPTURE: LUKE 8:4-15 (THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER)
We have heard God’s word and His word is growing in our hearts that we can’t just stay silent. Just as how God used someone to witness to us, God wants to use us, now that we have heard, to witness to others. Our main tool as a witness is God’s word.

LESSON#4: THE TESTIMONY OF A WITNESS
SCRIPTURE: ACTS 22 (PAUL’S TESTIMONY)
Giving a testimony means sharing how one became a Christian by God’s miraculous intervention and work in his or her life through specific events. It should not end with the conversion experience, but should also include the ways in which the Lord has worked in his or her life to sanctify him or her for His service. The focus of the testimony should always be Jesus Christ.

LESSON#5: THE ACTION OF A WITNESS
SCRIPTURE: ACTS 4:13-31
We understand that witnessing usually is not an easy thing to do or even if done does not always go well. There could be something that might come up that tells us to not to witness (hold us back) or, if we already have, tells us to not continue anymore (stop).
