Introduction
Who is Philip?
Philip was a respected and faithful man. One of the “seven” appointed in a congregation to care for the poor of the Christian community in Jerusalem (Acts 6:5). Also called “the evangelist” (Acts 21:8; Acts 21:9).
Philip had a heart for evangelism, and when the “great persecution” arose in Acts 8:1, Philip left Jerusalem to become an evangelist in Samaria (Acts 8:5–12). After the church in Samaria was started, Philip was used by the Holy Spirit to bring the gospel to an Ethiopian eunuch, a member of the court of Candace, the Ethiopian queen.

Main Point of the Lesson
As said on the previous lesson, Jesus wants us to follow Him. He wants us to be part of saving the world. He wants us to share the good news with everyone. You don’t need super powers to join the Jesus League. You just need to be willing to see the light and answer the call from Jesus to follow Him and let Him lead your life.
Jesus uses unlikely heroes. Philip, the speaker, was one of those men. He was not a performer; he was not a manager of people nor an administrator. He preached the truth about Jesus. He simply obeys God’s calling. The kind of obedience that says, “Wherever I am needed . . . Whatever needs to be done . . . I’m ready to go, ready to work and pleased to serve God.”
Like Philip, let Jesus’ love flow from you to others. Imagine how people who love Jesus can change their schools—even the world—if they let Jesus’ love flow every day.
Today, we need faithful kids who will serve the Lord in His kingdom; kids who will share Christ at every opportunity they have; kids who will bring much joy to those whom he share the Gospel.
Jesus is waiting to hear from you. Are you ready to join the Jesus League?
Activity
Simon says – this simple childish game is great for this story about passing on the word. Don’t be afraid of adding in Christian actions like kneel and pray or read the bible, and actions that make the children move around.
