Introduction
There are many types of roads that take us to different destinations. Some are paved and crowded with cars speeding by; while others are quiet and peaceful but can become muddy when it rains. Roads are a lot like life.
Ask the kids about the roads they go down today.
Tell the Story
Tell the bible story in your own words and by showing pictures.
Main Points of the Lesson
(Teacher should concentrate on one or two truths in this lesson so that children steadily come to know more about God)
- Jesus wanted us to know that He is the Way to the Father. Only through Jesus we can get to heaven.
- Jesus talked about following His way. This was like going through a narrow gate to a much harder road with fewer people on it. Jesus is always with us if we follow His way which leads to Heaven. This is the road of Everlasting Life which begins when we commit ourselves to Him.
- We can trust Jesus with every part of our lives both now and in the future.
- Jesus wants us to be with Him. He is preparing a place and promises to take us there to live with Him forever.
Our Response to the Story
LOOK
Jesus is the only Way to heaven. If we know Jesus, we know the Way. He is the One who is able to take us to Heaven. No man comes to the Father, except through Him. God provided a way for us: that Way is Jesus.
LISTEN
God loves us. God wants us to be with Him forever. We can also trust Jesus with every part of our lives both now and in the future.
LIVE
Even though this life may at times be tough or difficult, God is working something much greater in our lives and preparing a bright future and eternity with Him.
